When I was younger, naive and carefree
I thought Valentine's Day was wonderful
Flowers, chocolates, cupids and cards
Were sold and given away in bountiful
It was a day of free-mixing and romance
For those souls in spiritual emptiness
For those who are unattached and single
They think this is a day of happiness
However I realised how silly I was
To get helplessly caught in this
Because I feel that something
Is really strangely amiss
The origin is traced to Pre-Christrian Rome
Where Pagan's conduct the event of sensation
Which is called the "Feast of the Wolf" on 15 Feb
When boys randomly choose their sexual companion
It is good for a Muslim to realise
That Valentines' Day has Pagan roots
And it is due to mass media and innovation
Which cause its popularity to shoot
According to the Catholic Encyclopedia
It also relates the heartbreaking story
Of 3 different St Valentines
Who are Christian matyrs on 14 February
Why celebrate the death of non-Muslims
If that can cause our hearts to close?
Why glorify stories of Christian matyrs
When we have thousands of Muslim heroes?
Such roots are simply not proper
To the aqeedah it may cause harm
Hence there really is no such thing
As celebrating Valentines' Day in Islam
Spread this word around to others
So that none be wrongly swept away
Dear Muslims, if you are a sincere beleiver
Please say 'NO' to Valentines Day[/i][/color]
